Radical Agenda EP026 – Best of the Death Threats
I got my first politically oriented death threat in 2010 while I was running for congress. I had this profound sense of accomplishment as I read it, knowing that my activism was impactful enough for someone to commit a crime in an effort to silence me.
You may have noticed, that this effort was quite unsuccessful.
The threat came in the form of a letter sent by the postal service. I had saved it for quite some time as a bit of souvenir, but lost it with a great deal of other paperwork when I fell behind on the payments for a storage unit in New York. I don’t suspect whoever won that auction realized what a tremendous piece of memorabilia that may someday become, and so it is likely in a landfill somewhere, unfortunately.
Not to worry though, plenty of threats have come in over the years since, and I’ll share the best of those threats with you on the show. I’ve become quite used to them, in fact. So much so that just yesterday I went to go to the supermarket, got halfway down the street and realized I had left the house without my gun, so I turned around and went back home to get it. When one’s career path causes them to be perpetually threatened with assault and murder, it is unwise to leave the house unarmed.
Burning flags, relishing in the deaths of police officers and soldiers, discussing race and gender issues without concern for political correctness, these things tend to get people riled up. So I’m in no way surprised that I have a constant stream of hate mail and death threats flowing in from every contact medium I make available. I even made my Google Voice number public just so I could get some of them in the form of audio recordings.
It is entirely possible, ladies and gentlemen, that one of these fanatics will carry through on one of these threats someday. I might not be long for this world. However, I would rather die by an assassin’s bullet, than live subject to the threat of said bullet. I will speak the truth, and follow the evidence, wherever it may lead, and put on an exciting, entertaining program for as long as you’re willing to pay me to do so.
In the words of Louis Farrakhan, “death is sweeter.”
Speaking of Louis Farrakhan, he recently made a rather fiery “kill whitey” speech in Miami. I’m sure this isn’t intent on driving race relations back to the civil war. Speaking of race relations, I’ve incurred yet another 30 day ban from Facebook for mentioning Nigerian email scams.
And in case you thought all that wasn’t horrific enough, we’ll be taking your calls as well. Give us a call at 218-936-0815 or Radical Agenda on Skype if you would like to be on the program.
Join us, this and every Friday from 5-7pm Eastern, for another exciting episode of the Radical Agenda. It’s a show about common sense extremism, where we talk about radical, crazy, off the wall things like, solving social and political problems peacefully.
