A 43 year old man from Granite Falls, Washington is in police custody in “grave condition” after opening fire on police across three cities in Snohomish County in Washington state. Fox News is reporting that the incident began around 9:30pm local time, when a suspect in a white pickup truck fired on an unmanned patrol car in Great Falls, WA.
A few minutes later, police in Lake Stevens reported that their station had been fired on, and police vehicles had been targeted, apparently by the same suspect.
Shortly after, police located the suspect and chased him into the town of Marysville. A gunfight ensued, leaving one officer with non-life threatening injuries, it is not clear if those injuries were from a gunshot or not. You can listen to the scanner audio below, and you will hear police report that the suspect was in custody with a gunshot wound to the head.
Little else is known at this point. Police have not identified the suspect, we know nothing of his motives or his politics. I’m going to go out on a limb though, and assume that this guy didn’t like police very much. A feeling I can certainly relate to, as I imagine many of us can.
Inevitably, he’ll be characterized by government and media as the worst sort of criminal. Meanwhile, the bravery and heroism of the police will be heralded far and wide. The injured officer, who for all we know may have sprained his ankle running away, will get some kind of award, probably a paid vacation.
This is a sad thing. Whoever this guy was, and whatever his motives, he didn’t accomplish much. Some disabled vehicles, some broken glass, a minor injury to one officer, it doesn’t amount to anything, really. Police will have all these things replaced in no time, and now this guy will go to prison for a very long time, provided he survives the bullet the police put in his skull.
It will be interesting to find out what, other than the bullet, was going through his mind. People often dismiss such things as insanity, hatred, or some other completely irrational act, but I find that isn’t usually the case. For somebody to go on what basically amounts to a suicide mission, generally requires a certain amount of antagonizing, and I don’t imagine this guy loaded his truck up with weapons and began firing on police stations expecting to make it home alive.
Maybe the government took his kids away, his home perhaps, years of his life, a large sum of money, some combination of these things? Did they kill or imprison a loved one? Was he wrongly arrested? Did they throw a flashbang at his baby?
These are just a few of the crimes police commit on a daily basis. Why is it any wonder that people occasionally lash out against them violently? If anything, I’m just shocked that it happens so rarely. If I had come here from some other planet, and observed that a group of people was employed full time threatening, assaulting, robbing, kidnapping, and murdering, I’d be really confused that so few people did anything meaningful to stop it.
When people do reach the point that they are willing to sacrifice their lives in hopes of making a dent, it gives me hope for the human race. It is a shame they have to be tortured to the brink of insanity before it happens, but the fact that there is a breaking point gives me some glimmer of hope that one day this tyranny will come to an end.
Unfortunately there’s going to have to be some strategy to it before that end comes. Spending the rest of one’s life in prison, or dying at the hands of the enemy, is far too great a price to pay for some broken windows and damaged vehicles. Even trading a life for a life, is no strategy for solving any problem.
If you or someone you know is nearing that breaking point, here are a few things I’d like you to consider.
Feeling this way does not make you a bad person, and neither does acting on those feelings.
You probably aren’t some kind of homicidal lunatic. Chances are, you’re seeing police for what they are, a threat to your safety, and the safety of everyone you love. It is perfectly normal for you to want to put a stop to that, and police will use violence to continue threatening you and your neighbors. The only way to stop them, is to kill them.
100% of dead police stop harming innocent people. 100% of living police continue harming innocent people.
If you’re willing to die, we need you alive.
So, you’ve determined that your life is a small price to pay for freedom? Good. Please deposit your life into the bank until we have saved up enough to do something meaningful. You are the most valuable asset the cause of liberty has. Most people are not willing to do anything at all for the cause, yet you are willing to sacrifice it all.
If you are willing to die, then living to fight another day should be a piece of cake. Go to work, make money, read, get educated, spread the message, speak without fear. If you’ve already decided your life is over, then giving your life to the cause in a productive way is going to do far more damage to the police than getting shot in the head after breaking their windows.
As long as you’re alive, you always have the choice to go out blazing later on. Once you take that option, you are out of choices.
You’re not alone.
The most popular articles on this blog are articles where I talked about killing police. Many of the comments are very positive. People all over the world are realizing that there is no such thing as a good cop. Slowly but surely, more and more people are realizing that at some point, somebody is going to have to fight them.
If you’re not already familiar with libertarianism, get familiar. Many so called libertarians might demonize you if you tell them you want to kill police, but people who actually understand it, while in the minority, know that you are right. We’re out there, and if we’re networking with each other, we’re a far more powerful force than any lone gunman.
The problem is bigger than your local police department.
Whatever your issue with the police is, the fact of the matter is that they are just a small enforcement mechanism for a far larger problem. The entire planet is ruled by violent sociopaths who believe they have the unique authority to force people to do what they want.
Politicians and other bureaucrats meet and openly discuss their plans to use violence against innocent people. Whether it’s a a war on terrorism, a war on drugs, a DUI checkpoint, a speed limit, taxation, really anything, these are all threats of violence. The only difference between you and the government is, the people who call themselves the government claim the right to use violence against people who haven’t harmed anybody.
The people they do all this violence against are actually on board with the idea in large part. If people understood that this was wrong, if people were willing to defend themselves against that violence, then it would stop happening. It’s unlikely we’ll ever get a voting majority to wake up and see the gun in the room, but a large enough minority that is willing to use force can and will make this oppression impossible.
If you get yourself killed or captured today, then you will not be part of that fight when it does happen.
