It’s constitution day! 228 years ago, the constitution of the United States signed by the delegates to the convention. Lotta good that did, eh? Fiat currency, foreign wars, a debt of $18 trillion and counting, gun control, high taxes, checkpoints. God bless America! But perhaps the next election will fix it? Unlikely… Last night’s GOP freak show on CNN left me exhausted and feeling quite hopeless. I miss the days when I used to look at elections and think “Everything
Jesse Benton and John Tate have been indicted on charges of violating campaign finance laws during Ron Paul’s 2012 presidential campaign. Benton, who is married to Paul’s granddaughter, was the chair of the campaign committee. Tate was the campaign manager. Both are now heading up America’s Liberty, a super PAC supporting Rand Paul’s 2016 bid for the White House. Also indicted was Dimitri Kesari, Deputy National Campaign Manager for the Ron Paul 2012 campaign. The Washington Post reports; The indictment charges the
As I hear it, Rand Paul has announced his candidacy for President of the United States. Not only that, but he’s in New Hampshire right now. I could get in the car and go see him if I wanted to, but I think I would rather watch Game of Thrones reruns in preparation for Sunday’s 5th season premier. There are other things I would rather do than go see Rand Paul. Like laundry, cleaning my bathroom, reading the inane ramblings of my
Should Libertarians be More Like Frank Underwood? I think it’s safe to say that if the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE) was ever a worthwhile publication, that time has passed. From giving leftists like Cathy Reisenwitz a platform, to the most recent idiocy from Jeff Tucker, surely this institution could sink no lower, or so I thought. But every bottom has a basement, and every basement a trap door, and every trap door a shovel, there really is no limit
Why fake being a libertarian? They have no political power to speak of, hell, for the most part, they don’t even want political power. Certainly, there’s more money to be made by being a fake liberal, or a fake conservative? Right? If you were going to fake being something, it would probably make a lot more sense to fake being something more popular than a libertarian, wouldn’t it?
So, one of my many conflicts within libertarian circles has been Julie Borowski. I don’t particularly like people who urge libertarians to participate in statism, especially while urging party loyalty. Her voice is also annoying, but other than that, I’m sure she’s a nice enough person.
Rand Paul made headlines Wednesday with his endorsement of Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell’s reelection campaign. McConnell, also from Kentucky, is widely viewed as an “establishment” Republican, so the move came as a stunning blow to tea partiers, and political libertarians alike, who had hoped to mount a primary challenge against McConnell in 2014. It turns out this actually happened back in March, it only appeared to be news as this Huffington Post article began showing up in my facebook
Wow, just in time! I mean, it’s almost like they planned it this way or something. By the way, why didn’t Ted Cruz or Rand Paul do anything to stop this?
Hello, My name is Nobody, and Rand Paul can go straight to hell!
Three time presidential candidate, and 12 term congressman Ron Paul, appeared on the Jay Leno show last night. He discussed, Obamacare, social security, gun control, Rand Paul, highway safety, education, and more. He once again confirmed, for all those who hadn’t been listening all the other times he said it, that he believes in voluntarism. That is to say, voluntary action being superior to that which is coerced. He appears to be confirming, as others have said repeatedly, that he
